The photoelectrical ABUS smoke detector reacts to smoke particles: if too much smoke enters its measuring chamber, a loud alarm signal is triggered. In the event of fire, the integrated powerful piezo sounder provides an effective alarming – at a minimum sound level of 85 dB.

The smoke detector is mounted at the ceiling in the center of a room. The operation range of the smoke detector is up to 40 m². When using a 9 Volt alkaline battery block, the lifetime is up to 3 years (service interval for battery replacement). The battery lifetime varies depending on how often you run the detector’s function test. This is done easily by pressing the function test button; recommended: test once a week.

A low battery is notified by the detector, issuing regular beep tones: for up to 30 days the smoke detector beeps once every minute to remind you to replace the battery.

The home smoke detector is GS approved and VdS certified (Approval no.: G209230). This guarantees high safety standards.
