Because of its powerful effect, authorities such as the police, the Federal Border Guard (BGS), and the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) rely on pepper spray in critical situations.

Due to its very powerful effect, pepper spray may only be used against animals in Germany. However, the use of pepper spray against people is permitted in situations of self-defense.

What is pepper spray made of?

Pepper sprays contain the natural plant extract “Oleoresin Capsicum,” or “OC” for short. OC is a completely environmentally friendly, natural, and non-toxic active ingredient extracted from the hottest chili peppers (genus Capsicum), most commonly habanero peppers.

What sizes are available?
We offer pepper sprays in a wide variety of sizes: from handy pocket-sized options starting at 12 ml, to standard 40 ml or 50 ml cans, up to 400 ml—enough, for example, to clear an entire building. We also offer reusable spray devices with replaceable cartridges. We also sell sprays without the active ingredient, so you can safely practice quickly drawing, handling, and using defense sprays without any problems.

Wide spray or long-range spray, gel or foam?

Wide spray
is suitable for defending against multiple attackers at close range due to its wide spray pattern. Precise aiming is not necessary.

Long-range spray
Due to its ballistic jet, it is suitable for repelling multiple attackers at longer distances (e.g., through fences). Compared to a spray mist, it is also less susceptible to wind.

Gel
has nearly the same properties as a long-range spray, but is more viscous. As a result, it adheres better to the affected area and is therefore more effective.

Foam 
is ideal for enclosed spaces because it does not spread throughout the room like a spray mist. This means the user is not exposed to it. In addition, it adheres better to the skin, has a long-lasting effect, and the affected areas are clearly visible.
