The Double lock function is a special protection, so that it is not possible to shorten it more or too much. It can be activated by most of the handcuffs by a small pin on the (lower) side of the handcuff, by pressing the end of the key in it. The function can be release by turning the key in the keyhole counterclockwise.
The handcuff will not open that way, only the Double lock will be unlocked,
